Traditional FMEA Overview

Description
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology was first developed by the U.S. Department of War in the 1940s. It evolved over the years into a format that successfully guides risk analysis in a wide variety of organizations and industries. Two years ago, a new approach to FMEA was jointly published by the U.S. Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and the EU Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) and it is now the standard for the automotive industry.

Many organizations, however, have not adopted the automotive-centric AIAG-VDA format and instead have chosen to retain the traditional approach to FMEA. So, Quality Support Group has developed two separate workshops for teaching FMEA – one in the standard format that is preferred by most of our clients, and another that teaches the new AIAG-VDA approach.

Join Jim Leonard in this fast-paced webinar for an in-depth review of the standard, traditional approach to applying FMEA. After a brief introduction, we will review both Design and Process FMEA procedures to reduce risk and prevent failures in your designs and processes. Jim will also share some of the best practices that have been adopted by QSG clients. Attendees will receive QSG’s updated electronic worksheets for guiding and documenting your future Design and Process FMEAs.
