Basic Quality Tools for Problem Solving and Process Improvement

Basic statistical methods (sometimes included in the phrase “Seven Quality Tools”) are called basic because they can be used by people with little formal training in statistics.  Although they’re called “the basic tools,” they are nonetheless very powerful.  Kaoru Ishikawa, awarded the Deming Prize in Japan for his many contributions in the field of quality, noted that these methods can be used to address the vast majority of quality-related issues.

Ishikawa was influenced by a series of lectures presented by the late Dr. W. Edwards Deming in Japan in the early 1950’s.  In the wake of Deming’s courses, companies started to train their workforces in statistical quality control.  Unfortunately, the complexity of the subject matter was intimidating to many workers; so, the companies scaled back the training to focus on simpler – or more basic – techniques that are sufficient for addressing most quality and process problems.

Join Jim Leonard in this fast-paced webinar to learn (or review) how you can use the basic tools to achieve dramatic improvements in quality and productivity throughout your organization.  By the end of this program you will have powerful techniques to add to your toolbox as well as a solid introduction and foundation for learning and applying more advanced statistical methods and concepts in the future.
