Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is an analytical methodology used to ensure that potential problems have been considered and addressed throughout the product and process development process. The new AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook was released in June 2019. The changes to FMEAs for the automotive sector are BIG!
The revised handbook is the result of a joint effort between OEMs and Tier 1 supplier members of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA), Germany’s association for automotive manufacturers and suppliers. The result is one common foundation for FMEAs across all global automotive sectors represented by AIAG and VDA.
This webinar will provide an overview of important changes to the FMEA handbook, including:
- 7-Step Approach to FMEA development
- Revised Severity, Occurrence and Detection Tables
- Action Priority (AP) methodology and Tables to replace RPN calculations
- Change point highlights from the AIAG 4th edition FMEA Manual
