Tom Gray has experience in both Quality and Operations Management, having worked for 15 years supporting the automotive, aerospace, and healthcare industries. For the last 20 years he has assisted organizations gain compliance and/or certification to various management systems, including ISO 9001 (General Quality), IATF 16949 (Automotive), AS9100 (Aerospace), ISO 13485 (Medical Device), ISO 22716 (Cosmetic), ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety). In addition to the requirements of these management systems, Tom conducts training programs for quality tools such as Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis.
In the area of Operations Management, Tom has developed and implemented successful Lean programs using the Toyota Kata approach for manufacturing and service organizations, including the implementation of Lean Tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Quick Changeover/SMED, Total Productive Maintenance, and Standard Work. Tom is an excellent facilitator, project manager, and designer of learning/training events. He has served on local and national committees promoting the
development of quality systems and best practices.
Tom has been a consultant and trainer since 2002, dedicated to helping companies gain continual improvement. Tom has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA.
