Paul Tumolo – Senior Consultant

Paul is the Founder and Managing Director at Edusult Business Transformation and faculty at Harvard Extension School.  He is the designer and implementer of  the trademarked consulting methodology.  In this time Paul has designed, developed and led a number of transformational organizational and leadership development consulting programs that have enabled the clients to advance their process and project management strategies. Companies such as Harvard Management Company, Boston Scientific, LoJack, Teradyne, Vantage Travel, Harvard Medical School, and Fidelity have utilized Paul and his company for improved organizational performance.  Prior to Edusult, he served as Deputy Director at the Harvard School of Public Health.  In this role he has been successful in leading major Change Management programs for a number of health care organizations globally. His consulting experience includes the design and implementation of long term programs for a number of enterprise wide transformational efforts. These programs required his in depth experience in managing people, processes and projects, resulting in measureable and enduring organizational and cultural change.

Paul is considered an LEAN/Six Sigma expert in implementing Project and Program Management and Process Excellence processes both at the strategic and tactical levels. He has worked on many long term assignments in the Europe, Asia and the U.S., managing major change driven projects for some of largest institutions in the world.

With over thirty years in High Technology, Program Management, Organizational Development, and Change Management, Paul has deep knowledge and experience in business process improvement and organization effectiveness strategies. His areas of specialty include Project Management, Process Management, Supply Chain/Purchasing, Learning and Development, Organizational Change and Alignment, Integration Programs, Change Management, High Performance Work Systems and Executive Coaching.

Prior to joining Harvard, Paul served as the Director of New Product Introduction for Nortel Networks at Solectron, a two time Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award winning company. While leading the New Product Introduction team in this $2.5 billion business unit, he implemented numerous high performance work systems and innovative organization change initiatives, and was awarded the Best Global Supplier for Nortel Networks business unit. During his tenure with Solectron, Paul was responsible for the successful completion of several cultural transformation projects, including the redesign of the New Products system, the design and implementation of high-performance work teams, Supply Chain optimization, and the implementation of a global new product transfer process in nine countries. He has introduced more than $14 billion dollars of new products to manufacturing sites around the globe. Paul has been a lead designer of new product processes in health care, electronics manufacturing, analytical instrumentation, and in telecom industries.

Paul is a highly experienced educator. For the past 30 years, he has held faculty positions at Harvard University, Harvard School of Public Health, Boston University, Babson College, Bentley University, Northeastern University, and Hult International School of Business. His primary focus is Project Management; Process Management; LEAN/Six Sigma, Operations Management, and Customer Relationship Management He was awarded the Fussa Distinguished Teacher of the Year in 2005 at Harvard, selected out of a faculty group of more than 800. Paul is well known for his passion for teaching, and has taught more than 10,000 students from around the globe.

Paul holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Northeastern University and MBA in Business and Organization Development from Bryant University and resides in the greater Boston area. He is an accomplished business coach, an avid reader, gardener, auto restorer, and loves animals.
