Joan is a continuous improvement facilitator working with businesses to streamline operations through education in Lean philosophy and tools. She is a creative thinker, idea-generator, and bridge-builder with a caring approach that seeks to enlighten and empower others as they embark on their own continuous improvement journeys. Joan’s unique blend of professional experience brings a range of perspective to her clients as she is able to incorporate cross-functional insights into improvement processes.
Joan has 20 years of domestic and international experience working with private companies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. Her background includes program management, operations, marketing, advising, and customer service. Joan’s group facilitation skills and intercultural training seek to foster inclusion across cultural differences within a team, and she is fluent in Spanish and able to deliver Lean trainings to native Spanish speakers.
Joan is currently completing her MBA at the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management, and she also holds an MA in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute and a BA in Communications and Advertising from Suffolk University. She is pursuing her Lean Bronze Certification and is a member of ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management), SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers), and SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).
