Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Return to Our Services
Quality system requirements are intended to develop fundamentals that provide for continuous improvement, defect prevention and the reduction of variation. APQP is the heart of product development/project implementation and the prime element of successful project success as it links the special characteristics identified in the project. It then integrates all of the prime tools of TS 16949 like FMEA, control plans, feasibility reviews, operator instructions, process flow diagrams, etc. This is a workshop course that gives the participants the opportunity to work in teams and implement APQP using actual case studies.
-Demonstrate knowledge of APQP and how it relates to TS 16949
-Describe the importance of APQP to successfully implement the launch of a new product
-Learn how to implement an APQP project planning system for your next project
-Describe the importance of linkages and flow of special characteristics within a project
This will be a general overview of the basics and benefits of TS 16949 and the importance of PPAP. This will give the participants the chance to clear up any interpretation issues that may exist on TS 16949.
-Phase One (Plan and Define Program) will cover Voice of the Customer, Design Goals, Customer Inputs, Benchmarking and development of the preliminary bill of material and process flow chart.
-Phase Two (Product Design and Development) will cover DFMEA, design review, development of special characteristics, team feasibility commitment and management support review process.
-Phase Three (Process Design and Development) will cover PFMEA, process flow charts, floor plans, MSA plan and pre-launch control plans.
-Phase Four (Product and Process Validation) will cover the launch phase of the program and will include production trial runs, capability analysis, production validation testing, production control plans, product quality planning, sign off and PPAP submissions.
-Phase Five (Feedback, Assessment and Corrective Action) will cover reduced variation, customer satisfaction, delivery, service, and continuous improvement.
